milk to a family in need.

The Milk Gap

More than 46.5 million Americans – including 1 in every 6 children – rely on Feeding America food banks each year.

Milk is one of the most-requested, yet least-donated items at Feeding America food banks.

On average, clients receive the equivalent of less than 1 gallon per person per year. That’s because while Americans are generous with canned and dry goods, many don’t think to donate milk because it’s perishable.

In partnership with Feeding America — the nation’s largest domestic hunger-relief organization — The Great American Milk Drive turns your donations into gallons of milk for families in your local community. To date, more than 400,000 gallons — that’s over 6 million servings— of milk have been delivered to families across the country through The Great American Milk Drive.

But there’s still so much more to do.

Hungry children and families in your community are missing out on the essential nutrients supplied by milk because it’s not typically donated to food banks – even though it’s one of the most requested items. Help us spread the word and put milk on the table for local families in need.
