Breakfast from the Heart
They say, “The way to a man’s heart is through his stomach,” and we have to admit: “they” were onto something! The way we see it, a well-fed family makes for a happier home, no doubt, and a more harmonious brood around the breakfast table, too. After all, what’s not to love about a meal that smells sensational, tastes delectable and does a body good? Whether to celebrate Valentine’s Day or just a better-than-typical day in the life, here are three of our favorite recipes, from the heart – for your own personal slew of sweethearts.
1. Hearty Oatmeal with Strawberries, Dried Cherries and Almonds: The entire fam will fall head-over-heels for this hearty spin on a classic bowl of oatmeal. Sprinkle with dried cherries and almonds, and then top with strawberry slices (in the shape of a heart) for a berry lovely breakfast!
2. For-Your-Honey Breakfast Panini: gooey, decadent, warm and crunchy. That’s what happens when you marry peanut butter, honey, sliced bananas and whole-grain bread to make one perfect Panini. Serve with a glass of cold milk for a great breakfast mate.
3. Rose (Pink) Pancakes: Kids and adults alike will go gaga for these pretty-in-pink pancakes: add crushed or diced strawberries or raspberries to your favorite pancake batter for the sweetest spin on pink.
