FIGHT CHILDHOOD HUNGER THIS SUMMER

More than 18 million kids in need may miss out on milk’s nutrition when they lose access to free or reduced-price meal programs at school.

Milk. Love What's Real.

THE NEED FOR MILK

More than 46 million Americans, including 12 million children, rely on Feeding America food banks each year - and milk is one of the most requested items. Milk is the top food source for three of the nutrients most likely to be missing in kids’ diets – calcium, vitamin D and potassium. But despite the demand, it’s one of the least donated items at food banks. On average, food banks are only able to provide the equivalent of less than one gallon per person per year.

The Impact

33,190,752

servings of milk donated to people in need since 2014

Together, Feeding America® – the nation’s largest domestic hunger relief organization – and America’s dairy community have delivered more than 33 million servings of fresh milk to children and families who need it most.

REAL NOURISHMENT. REAL STORIES.

See how this first-of-its-kind program has impacted communities nationwide and how the dairy community has teamed up with people across the country to help get milk to kids in need.

THE REAL LOVE CONVOY

During National Dairy Month in June 2019, America’s dairy community joined forces with Feeding America for the Real Love Convoy - a cross-country summer tour that provided kids with free, nutritious milk and dairy foods, stopping at farmers markets, food banks, sporting events and more. Learn how the Convoy helped raise awareness of the need for milk and dairy in food banks across communities nationwide below.
